Skin can stretch throughout different stages of our lives, for example, if you are going through puberty, significant weight changes in the body, such as the upper arms, thighs and breast stretch marks, or if you are pregnant.   We recommended using a stretch mark oil during pregnancy such as Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil, when the skin starts to stretch during the first trimester. This is because the sooner potential pregnancy stretch marks are cared for - when they are red or reddish-purple - the more likely you are to lessen their appearance. Once they begin to smooth and fade, they become less obvious and far more difficult to treat successfully. As the skin contracts after pregnancy, it can also lose its suppleness, which is why Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil should also be continued to be applied after giving birth, to help contracting skin stay supple. Research conducted by France’s leading centres of dermatology, led by world-renowned Professor Humbert evaluated the effects of Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil on fibroblasts from early stretch marks (red colour marks), in order to avoid the appearance of late stretch marks (white coloured marks). This in vitro research showed a significant improvement in the markers for stretch mark formation (a decrease of contractile forces generated by stretch marks fibroblasts) in the presence of Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil*. Additionally, during consumer trials, 75% of people agreed that it reduced the visibility of stretch marks after two weeks of use.^†

Concerning the level of vitamin A (Retinyl  Palmitate) in Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil, it is low enough to render it harmless to the unborn child. By including vitamin A at a very low level, Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil provides pregnant women with the skin benefits of vitamin A. Only a fraction of topically applied vitamin A will enter the body because the skin provides a significant barrier to penetration.  The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) has evaluated vitamin A and its esters when used as a cosmetic ingredient. The SCCS opinion is that the use of vitamin A in body lotions, up to the maximum concentration of 0.05% of retinol equivalent, is safe^**. Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil includes vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate) in its formulation at well below this maximum allowable concentration for a body lotion at 0.012%. Please note that scars are permanent in nature, and although Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil is formulated to help improve their appearance, it can never remove them. If uncertain about using Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil on certain areas, such as burn scars, appendectomy scars or c-section scars (caesarean scars), please consult with a medical professional before applying. We recommend applying only once the skin is fully healed and should not be used on broken skin. Results will vary from individual to individual.

Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil can be used for the face. However, do not apply to broken or irritated skin. In case of irritation, discontinue use and if the problem persists consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Vitamin E may help to improve skin elasticity. It has strong antioxidant properties, which help to protect the skin from free radicals that can cause premature skin ageing. Vitamin E penetrates deep into the skin, while also smoothing the top barrier. Its powerful moisturising properties will leave the skin looking healthier and more hydrated.

• Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil has no known side effects when used as directed. Do not apply to broken skin. Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil has been dermatologically tested. In case of irritation, discontinue use and if the problem persists consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• It is safe to use Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil on your body while breastfeeding. However, we would not recommend using it on the nipples - babies are very sensitive and we do not recommend that they ingest Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil, even in the very smallest amounts. If you are in any doubt, please speak with your midwife or doctor before using Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil.

• We recommend that for best results Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil be applied daily for a minimum of three months. All skin types are different, and results will therefore vary from individual to individual. It also very much depends on the skin condition for which you are applying Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil. In most cases, we would expect users to experience more hydrated skin after just one week. In UK consumer trials 95% of people agreed that Perfectil Biotherapy Body Oil reduced dryness and moisture loss after just one week, and 75% agreed that it had reduced the visibility of stretch marks after two weeks of use.^{†
